Jozy Altidore and AZ Alkmaar saw their lead in Holland reduced to just one point after a lifeless draw at home against NAC Breda.

AZ Alkmaar 0-0 NAC Breda

AZ Alkmaar played to a disappointing scoreless draw with NAC Breda on Sunday at AFAS Stadion and their lead over Ajax at the top of standings is now just a single point.

US international Jozy Altidore started the game for AZ and was subbed out in the 76th minute for Charlison Benshop.

Altidore had his best chance of the game early in the seventh minute when his header was saved by Breda keeper Jelle ten Rouwelaar.

In the second half, NAC would push forward and their best opportunity came in the 72nd minute when a shot from Santi Kolk forced a nice save from AZ keeper Esteban Alvarado.

AZ returns to action on Thursday when they host Heracles in a cup match. Next Sunday they return to league play when they host RKC Waalwijk
