DAVID SMITH - Monday, April 9, 2012
Charles Kazlauskas and Helmond will try to continue their run towards the playoffs when they welcome 17th-place AGOVV Apeldoorn on Monday afternoon.

Helmond have been an unstoppable force throughout the early months of 2012, running off 14 straight games since their last loss and climbing to the upper reaches of the league.

While the season-long dominance of leaders Zwolle will almost certainly deny them the chance for automatic promotion, they should be able to secure a finish that will put them directly into the second round of the promotion playoffs.

The first time they played AGOVV in January, the team with the second-lowest number of wins and the worst defense in the league, they had a surprisingly tough time to take the three points, winning by a single goal in a game which saw two red cards.

With momentum squarely on their side, particularly with their opponents having won only once in their last seven games, they should still be able to get the job done on the road on Monday.

AGOVV are still just barely out of the league's relegation places, leading last-place Emmen by three points, however could fall into the last-place spot should they fall to their opponents.

Helmond have no players suspended and are not reporting any injuries, while AGOVV are missing backup keeper Rene Oosterhof to a red card suspension.
