RECAP: WEEKEND NORWEGIAN ACTION
Josh Gatt and Molde returned to its winning ways, Ricardo Clark, Sean Cunningham and Stabæk fell into last place in the league and Sebastian Troupe and Bærum recorded a dramatic point at home.
Molde FK 2 - 1 SK Brann Bergen
Molde cruised to victory at home over Brann, while also jumping to second place in the Tippeligaen.
American winger Josh Gatt started and went the distance for Molde.
Jo Inge Berget gave Molde the lead in the ninth minute, when a cross went past the outstretched hands of Brann goalkeeper Piotr Leciejewski and onto Berget's head. Molde extended its lead in the 51st minute, when Davy Claude Angan scored on a bicycle kick from eight yards out.
Amin Askar scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time with a rocket from 22 yards out, but it was only a consolation for Brann in the closing minutes.
Molde returns to action next Monday against Viking Stavanger.
Tromsø IL 3 - 0 Stabæk IF
Stabæk's start to the season continues to go from bad to worse, [falling] away to Tromsø and into last place in the Tippeligaen.
American midfielder Ricardo Clark and American defender Sean Cunningham played the full 90 minutes for Stabæk.
Tromsø opened the scoring in the 19th minute, after some hectic play in the back by Stabæk that included a blocked shot led to Magnus Andersen finding himself unmarked. Andersen lunged at a cross from six yards out into the goal.
Serigne Kara Mbodj added to Stabaek's misery in the 45th minute, scoring into a wide-open net from eight yards out on a rebound. Hans Norbye added another goal for Tromsø in the 75th minute when making a run from the right side of the penalty box, shooting from a tough angle into the upper right hand corner of the net.
Stabæk return to action next Monday against Hønefoss.
Hønefoss BK 1 - 1 Fredrikstad FK
Hønefoss recorded its third straight tie to start the season against Fredrikstad.
American goalkeeper Steve Clark played the 90 minutes, while American forward Kenneth di Vita Jensen played 21 minutes in relief for Hønefoss.
In the 26th minute, Alexander Groven got back the clearance for his own shot and found Kristjan Örn Sigurdsson, who slotted it home.
In the 51st minute, Tarik Elyounoussi became the first player to get past Clark this season, as Elyounoussi got behind Hønefoss captain Frode Lafton, received a pass from Etzaz Hussain and found the back of the net.
Hønefoss returns to action next Monday against Stabæk.
Bærum SK Sandvika 3 - 3 FK Bodø/Glimt
Bærum started its first season in the Adeccoligaen since 2003 with a dramatic tie at home against Bodø/Glimt.
American defender Sebastian Troupe went the distance for Bærem.
Bærum scored first in the 10th minute, when Marius Lundemo received a pass from Rozhat Shaswari on the counterattack and put it in the back of the net.
But Bodø/Glimt stormed back in the second half, scoring three goals in 14 minutes. Troupe played a role in the first goal, when the left back got a head to a cross/shot in the 53rd minute; however, it went straight up into the air for Bodø/Glimt's Tommy Knarvik at the back post for the goal.
Bodø/Glimt took the lead in the 62nd minute, as Papa Alioune Ndiaye scored from 13 yards out. Knarvik added another goal from close range in the 66th minute.
Bærum did not go away quietly, pulling back a goal in the 85th minute. Lars Sandbu converted a penalty following a corner. Then, in the third minute of stoppage time, Erblin Llullaku headed in a pass from a corner to give Bærum the tie.
Bærum returns to action Sunday against Mjøndalen.
American defender Rhett Bernstein played the entire match in Mjøndalen's 1-0 over Alta. Kyle Helton did not make the bench for Mjøndalen.
