RECAP: ASTON VILLA 1-2 BOLTON
JOHN KRETLOW - Thursday, April 26, 2012
Tim Ream and Bolton took down Eric Lichaj and Aston Villa in a crucial relegation battle for each team

Both American defenders started and went the distance for their respective teams.

In a span of just a couple of minutes midway through the second half, all of the game's goals were scored. The advantage went to the visiting team.

Aston Villa struck first in the 61st minute when Stephen Warnock knocked in a Charles N'Zogbia cross.

Just seconds later though, Mark Davies was taken down in the box resulting in a penalty kick. Martin Petrov stepped up and scored for Bolton.

Bolton then did not waste much time at all, as David Ngog found the back of the net after Chris Eagles found the forward. This would end up the game winner for the Wanderers.

Ream enjoyed a particularly strong game in Bolton's backline, helping keep them in the game in the first half.

Both of the Americans were booked during the game's final tense stages. Samuel Ricketts also saw yellow for Bolton.

With a game in hand, Bolton is just one point from safety, while Villa is dangerously just three points from the relegation zone.

Villa travels to play West Bromwich Albion next, while Bolton takes on Sunderland.
