RECAP: MONDAY SWEDISH ACTION
Baggio Husidic provided a lively 90 minutes for Hammarby while Brian Edwards saw three goals fly past him in a loss for Degerfors.
Hammarby IF 2 - 1 Angelholm FF
Baggio Husidic played the whole match yet again as Hammarby were able to gather all three points at home against Angelholm. With the win, Hammarby have posted back to back victories for the first time since April.
Nik Ledgerwood opened the scoring for Bajen in the 49th minute. Erik Sundin found the Canadian International streaking down the right side of midfield. Ledgerwood got on the end of Sundin's pass in the penalty area, and sent a shot over the outstretched body of Angelholm keeper Hampus Nilsson to give Hammarby the lead.
Husidic helped set up Sundin's 69th minute goal which gave Hammarby the 2-0 lead. The former Chicago Fire midfielder placed a nice pass to Mikael Rynell at the top of the box who proceeded to send a nice back heel in the direction of Sundin. The striker chipped over an onrushing Nilsson eight yards from net to score his first goal for the Superettan club since coming over from Helsingborg at the end of the transfer window.
Bjorn Westerblad grabbed a consolation goal for Angelholm deep into stoppage time. Monday James stole possession from Hammarby as they attempted a short corner to waste time. The Nigerian defender found Mikael Dahlgren who led a pass towards net for Westerblad, whose finish found the far side of the net.
Hammarby get next weekend off, as their next action will be when they take on Brommapojkarna September 18th.
Degerfors IF 2 - 3 Falkenberg FF
Victor Skold put three goals past Brian Edwards as Falkenberg were able to edge out Degerfors in the final minutes of the game.
Skold got off to a fantastic start, netting goals in the 12th and the 16th minute. The 23 year old commenced the scoring courtesy of a nice pass from Christoffer Carlsson, who found the midfielder unmarked, leaving Skold to simply slot the goal into the far corner. Edwards was partially to blame on the next goal. The American keeper made a nice save on a Zlatan Krizanovic shot, but couldn't corral the rebound, allowing Skold to poach his second goal.
Peter Samuelsson was able to cut the lead in half just before the end of the first half. Christoffer Eriksson sent a cross for the unmarked striker in the penalty area, and Samuelsson's header found the back of the net. Samuelsson wasn't done, as he tied the score in the 62nd minute. The 30 year old Swede got on the end of Tobias Solberg's corner, and headed in his second goal of the game.
Skold would have the last laugh however. The young midfielder completed his hat trick in the 85th minute. Skold made a marauding run into the penalty area and fired a shot past Edwards which ultimately proved to be the game winner.
Degerfors are in action next when they take on Umea on September 17th.
