Leo Krupnik and Netanya had a rough outing at home in a lopsided loss to Acreo while both Bryan Gerzicich and Ryan Adeleye had the weekend off from league play.

Maccabi Netanya 1 - 3 Hapoel Acre

Leonard Krupnik played the full 90 minutes in defense for Maccabi Netanya as they fell to visiting Hapoel Acre on Saturday.

After an uneventful first half, Idan Shiriki opened up the scoring and put Netanya up 1-0 in the 47th minute, calmly directing a cross into the bottom right corner of the net.

The lead, however, would not last long. Ohad Kadusi tied the game only two minutes later after he was left unmarked in the box and easily scored to level the match.

Hapoel Acre continued to pressure Netanya after getting their first goal. Yuval Shabati hammered home a rebound after a nice save by Luigi Tznamo in the 69th minute and Hapoel Acre never looked back.

David Gomes added an insurance goal for Acre in the 90th minute on a long, low shot from 25 yards. The Brazilian broke out on a counterattack alone and beat a tired looking Krupnik to seal the match.

The match marked the second straight loss for Krupnik and Netanya, giving up three goals in each of their last two matches.

Maccabi Netanya currently sit in eighth position after six matches and will look to get back on track after the international break when they host Hapoel Ramat Gan on October 20th.

Bryan Gerzicich and Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona were idle after losing a thrilling contest 4-3 to Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday in Europa League group action. Ironi Kiryat currently sit in fifth position in the Israeli League and resume play on October 20 when they play league leading Ashdod.

Ryan Adeleye and Hapoel Be'er Sheva also had the weekend off. They will next be in action on October 20 with a visit to Hapoel Haifa.
