DAVID SMITH - Friday, November 2, 2012
Alejandro Bedoya and Helsingborg had little problem to notch another win in the penultimate game of the season, riding a pair of second-half goals to three points against IFK Göteborg.

Helsingborgs IF 2 - 0 IFK Göteborg

Alejandro Bedoya helped Helsingborg continue their late-season push, as the team posted a shut-out victory over Göteborg.

After a scoreless first half, Helsingborg hit the gas and jumped to a 50th-minute lead. Matthias Lindström received a pass on the right side and sent a long cross to the far post where Nikola Djurdjic was waiting for the easy finish.

With 15 minutes left, Helsingborg's position was further strengthened when Bedoya was pulled down in the penalty area, resulting in a red card for Hjalmar Johnson.

Alvaro took the spot kick, and buried his shot to the right side for the 2-0 win.

Helsingborg remain fifth following the midweek round of games, and with one more to go before the end of the season, could feasibly climb one more spot should they beat Gefle on Sunday.

Brian Span is still recovering from injury and did not suit up for Djurgarden on Wednesday in their 1-1 draw at home against Syrianska FC Södertälje.
