BRIAN SCIARETTA - Monday, November 12, 2012
United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann today announced a 20-player roster for Wednesday's friendly against Russia in Krasnodar.

The roster contains a mix of veterans and newcomers, with the most notable new faces being Josh Gatt and Joe Gyau. Both wingers will be looking to earn their first caps for the US and provide the team with speed from wide positions.

The game will also mark the return of Timothy Chandler, who was uncommitted on playing for the US but has now indicated he wants to return to the team and be part of its buildup to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Juan Agudelo is also another player who is surprisingly included on the roster after a long absence from the team. The former U-23 player was traded from the New York Red Bulls earlier in the MLS season and struggled at Chivas USA before finishing on a high note.

The US national team will also be without key players Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan. While Dempsey is still adjusting to Tottenham after transferring from Fulham in August, Donovan is currently busy with Los Angeles Galaxy, who are in the midst of the MLS playoffs.
