FEILHABER CONFIRMS LA LIGA INTEREST
John Kretlow - Thursday, January 21, 2010
Speculation that certain La Liga clubs are interested in AGF Aarhus midfielder Benny Feilhaber were confirmed by the American himself, though a transfer looks to be only a slight possibility this winter.

"There has been some interest shown from Spanish teams but there hasn't been anything concrete produced from that," Feilhaber told Yanks Abroad. "And I don't expect to move this transfer window."

A specific Spanish team was not mentioned, but the Brazilian born player did say that playing in Spain's top flight would be welcomed one day.

"No doubt, Spain would be a great place to play in the future," the American went on to say.

Although reports like this could be a distraction, Feilhaber is focused for the rest of the Danish Superliga season.

"Things could change in the summer but as of right now I'm looking to keep building my game with Aarhus," he added.

Concentrating on the second half of the season, the 25-year-old is positive of his team's chances at success.

"I think AGF has sold some important players this window but we have enough depth to compete for the European spots," said Feilhaber.

The midfielder started his professional career with Hamburger SV of the Bundesliga and then transferred to Derby County of the English Premier League. In 2008, Feilhaber transferred to his current team, AGF Aarhus in Denmark and has excelled ever since.

@felix,

I agree with you man, however I think the Serie A is a step down from La Liga now. Benny's game is very well suited to quick, tactical passing set ups and for finese players like him. Good luck Benny!

Common you Yanks!

I think he should stay at Aarhus for at least the rest of the season.

This is the move he should have made 3 years ago when he was looking to leave Hamburg. The move to Derby County set him back 2 years easily.

His skill set is made for La Liga, and if his soccer brain grows, perhaps in Serie A. He has seemed to mature a lot since he went to Aarhus.

Felix
