RANGERS PASS ON QUINN
Arch Bell - Thursday, January 28, 2010
Scottish Premier League club Rangers say that they have decided to not extend a contract offer to American goalkeeper Andrew Quinn.

Quinn has been training with the squad for several weeks and has appeared in various reserve matches, but will not be joining the defending SPL champions on a permanent basis.

A Rangers official pointed out that with mainstay netminders Allan McGergor and Neil Alexander already in place along with third goalkeeper Scott Gallacher, the club would be unable to make room for the Silver Spring, Maryland native on the first team roster.

"Andrew Quinn is still training with us [and] although he has impressed the club, we will not be taking him on as we do not have an opening for a goalkeeper at the present time," confirmed Rangers Media Liasion Carol Patton to YA.

The six foot three inch Quinn starred for three years with the Fighting Irish soccer team before graduating in the spring of 2009. Quinn will continue to train with the Rangers Academy under the guidance of technical director Tommy Wilson.
